Following an extensive nationwide search, Jason McGrath has been selected as ΊΪΑΟΙηβs new vice president for enrollment management. He will begin on Jan. 6, 2025.
McGrath began his 25-year career in higher education as an academic advisor at Sinclair Community College, before discovering his affinity for admissions work while serving in ΊΪΑΟΙηβs Admissions office from 2002 to 2006. After this early role, McGrath expanded his admissions acumen at Vanderbilt University, where he remained for nearly 16 years. Through that span, McGrath shaped the Universityβs strategy surrounding domestic recruitment, evolved first-year and transfer evaluation processes, and oversaw student-athlete admissions, while building a network of high school counselors and fellow admissions professionals around the world. In 2022, McGrath brought his recruitment and selection expertise to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a top public university in the U.S., serving as associate provost and director of undergraduate admissions. Over the past two and a half years, Jason has led UNCβs admissions office through continuous public attention, intense application growth, increased admissions selectivity, and expanded recruitment and outreach efforts.
βWe are thrilled to welcome Jason McGrath to the College of ΊΪΑΟΙη,β said ΊΪΑΟΙηβs President Anne McCall. βDuring his formative years he saw first-hand how students benefit from intentional mentoring by ΊΪΑΟΙηβs faculty and staff, especially through our signature Independent Study capstone program in which every student works with a faculty advisor to delve into a topic or creative endeavor of their choosing. Jasonβs leadership will help us continue bringing to campus βquintessentially ΊΪΑΟΙηβ students with the academic excellence, community-mindedness, and keen curiosity that are characteristic of the students who thrive here.β
βMy whole career has been dedicated to higher education,β said McGrath. βIβm proud to say Iβve always served schools where the mission and students are at the heart of every decision, and nowhere is this truer than at ΊΪΑΟΙη. Leading Enrollment Management at ΊΪΑΟΙη is one of those rare opportunities to return to a place where I first discovered my professional calling and now can help take the College to the next level.β
McGrath holds a bachelorβs degree in psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and a masterβs degree in general psychology from the University of Dayton.
