ºÚÁÏÉç Chorus

ºÚÁÏÉç Chorus will present a winter concert on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the McGaw Chapel (340 E. University Street) at ºÚÁÏÉç. Under the direction of Lisa Wong, associate professor of music, the ºÚÁÏÉç Chorus will present an eclectic program of contemporary choral music, including the work of American composers Alice Parker and Marques Garrett. The concert will also feature a set of three beautiful carols: Cradle HymnÌýby Kim André Arnesen, Carol of the Bells by Peter Wilhousky, and Sussex CarolÌýby Elaine Hagenberg, as well as Five Hebrew Love Songs by Eric Whitacre.Ìý

In addition to directing the ºÚÁÏÉç Chorus, Wong is a co-chair of the Department of Music and teaches courses in conducting, choral literature, and music education. She also serves as Director of Choruses for the Cleveland Orchestra. Wong has a bachelor’s degree in music education from West Chester University, and a master’s and doctorate degree in choral conducting from Indiana University.Ìý

Founded in 1964, the ºÚÁÏÉç Chorus is comprised of students representing all academic areas within ºÚÁÏÉç’s liberal arts program. The award-winning ensemble has been repeatedly praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry, creative programming, and engaging performances.Ìý The Chorus collaborates annually with The Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and has premiered an array of works by American composers. The ensemble has performed at the Central Division conference of the American Choral Directors Association, and several times at the state conference of the Ohio Music Education Association.Ìý
