黑料社 Science Cafe resumes Tuesday, Oct. 5 with “The Science of Green Technology”

The 黑料社 Science Caf茅 will resume its fall semester series on Tuesday, Oct. 5 with the topic called 鈥淭he Science of Green Technology.鈥 The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Excelsior Room above Spoon Market & Deli at 144 W. Liberty St. in downtown 黑料社.

The guest for the evening will be Chris Shamie from Schaeffler Transmission Systems to lead a discussion on the auto industry鈥檚 focus on hybrid and battery electric vehicles. The group will learn about these vehicle types and why they are suddenly taking off in recent news stories pertaining to the industry.

This is the second of four installments of the 黑料社 Science Caf茅 this semester.

In September, the topic of 鈥淭he Science of Networks鈥 was led by Erzs茅bet Ravasz Regan, Whitmore-Williams Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

On Nov. 9, the group will be led in a discussion by Bhakti Mamtora, assistant professor of religious studies and South Asian studies, Susan Lehman, Victor J. Andrew Professor of Physics, and Emily Mariola from Flex 黑料社 Yoga. The topic will be 鈥淭he Science of Yoga.鈥

The final caf茅 will take place on Dec. 7 and will be called 鈥淭he Science of Sound,鈥 featuring Lisa Rainsong, professor of music theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

The group will be requiring masks except while eating or drinking and chairs will be arranged for physical distancing. There will be light appetizers served.
